PNR NUMBER EXPLAINED


The PNR number (passenger name record) is a 10-digit number printed on the upper right corner of your Indian Railway ticket. (It used to be divided into 2 parts, 3+7 digits, but no longer…)

This PNR number gives you the ability to check your PNR status online.

There are five main items of information that will be printed on your issued ticket:

  1. Passenger name
  2. Travel agent details
  3. Ticket details – ticket number
  4. Itinerary
  5. Name of the person booking the ticket
